Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has reacted after the new agreement on Russian gas between Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The first of our country has said that Vucic’s deliberate decision to take the side of Russia is a blow to Serbia’s prospects to walk the path of the EU.
“He has chosen to join a war criminal and fund Putin’s war on a united, peaceful and prosperous Europe. “The EU can no longer ignore the destructive path it has taken.”Osmani wrote on Twitter.
Vucic said yesterday that he had agreed on a new three-year gas supply contract in a telephone conversation with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
Otherwise, Serbia, which aims to join the European Union, has recently been under pressure from Western countries to link its foreign policy with the bloc and impose sanctions on Russia.
In 2008 the Balkan country put its gas and oil sectors in the hands of Russian companies. Gazprom Neft (SIBN.MM) and Gazprom jointly hold a majority stake in the only oil company in the country, while Gazprom is the majority shareholder in the only gas storage facility in the country.
