President Biden appeared “empty-handed” yesterday after a speech at a North Carolina university, as his gesture of ‘shaking hands’ on the podium did not make sense of who motivated him as no one was there.
Biden, 79, had just finished his 40-minute speech at Greensboro Agricultural Technical University when he turned right from the stage and held out his hand in a greeting position with someone.
But next to him there was no one except the public applauding from their seats and only then did they approach to greet the president, as can be seen from the footage of the event.
The development adds to speculation about the clarity of the senior Democratic cadre that has been the subject of similar observations in other cases of uncertainty.
Prior to the speech he had shaken hands with several university cadres including presenter Malcolm Hawkins.
In his comments the president vowed to push Congress for funding in the electrical conductor manufacturing sector, which is being studied by the university.
But his bizarre closing speech sparked surprise comments from several officials, including Texas Republican Ted Cruz, who had set a emoji “Rolling his eyes” after the images of the president shaking hands ‘with the air.’
