A poll published by YouGov found that 56% of Britons believe now is the time for Boris Johnson to step down as prime minister.
Asked if it would be acceptable for him to step down, 62% of conservative voters said no, while 29% agreed with the statement.
In the same question, 86% of Labor voters believe that now is the time for Mr. Johnson to resign, while 7% say it would be unacceptable to change the Prime Minister at this time.
Some politicians claimed that now is a bad time for a leadership race because of the war in Ukraine, which has been going on for seven weeks.
