Police have clashed today with protesters who seek freedom and oppose vaccinations in Germany, Austria, France and Italy as authorities strengthen vaccination measures although the current Omicron version of Koronavirus is much milder than the forerunner.
Demonstrators took to the streets of Paris in response to provocative comments by French President Emmanuel Macron, who had earlier said he would “infuriate” the unvaccinated.
In the French capital, protesters responded with the same language, writing on placards reading “We will infuriate you”.
Other slogans read “No vaccine-pass”, referring to Macron’s legislative urge to seek only vaccination proof to use public services such as cafes, bars, museums, gyms, etc.
Television images showed clashes with French protesters and police in several locations.
Protesters marched in the streets of Marseille, Nantes and Le Mans and other cities.
In Italy there were protests against the forced vaccinations that the government of the Prime Minister of Finance Marto Draghi has arbitrarily imposed on all people aged 50 and over as well as severe social harassment for the unvaccinated.
Under the new rules in Italy, called dictatorial by critics, the unvaccinated can not use public transport, bars, restaurants or even post offices.
People in France already have to show vaccination test or negative test to use intercity trains.
Seasonal flu and the Omicron variant of the coronavirus have caused infections in Europe but critics say they do not trust the government and its measures.
