British pro-government media reported today that police had arrived at the home of former London Parliament Labor leader John Bercow after a late-night house quarrel.
The complaint is believed to have been made by his wife Sally.
Bercow, 59, had spoken to officers who showed up at the scene and was forced to leave the couple’s house in the Battersea area, south London. Police took no further action.
The news of the arrival of the police at Bercow’s house comes after a severe disciplinary measure was given to him in the parliament last week, with the argument “intimidation of the staff”.
He was subsequently suspended by the Labor party when an investigation revealed more than 20 complaints of intimidating behavior against three staff members.
An investigation revealed Bercow had displayed “threatening” behavior towards staff, including verbal abuse and display of aggression.
Police said that after they had appeared at his home, they had spoken to his wife Sally, 52 years old.
“We talked to Mr. Bercow and then he left the house very angry in the face.” A Bercow spokesman declined to comment.
