Four people were handcuffed by the police in Korça, while another person was prosecuted for a series of criminal offenses.
The police has successfully finalized the operation ‘The Last Bet’, as a result of which the citizens EP, 21 years old, resident in Korça, were arrested in flagrante delicto; Xh. K., 21 years old, resident in the village of Mborje, Korça; AL, 32 years old, resident in Korça; GK, 44 years old, resident in Korça and was prosecuted at large citizen Xh. G., 21 years old, resident in the village of Voskopoja, Korça.
After the control exercised in the neighborhood no. 4, in the restaurant used by the citizen EP, who did not have the relevant documentation for this business, the police found an uninsured employee and 3 mobile phones in use by the citizens EP, Xh. K. and AL, who were allegedly used by them to place sports bets.
Also during the control exercised in the neighborhood no. 9, in the restaurant owned by the citizen Xh. G., was found an uninsured employee, a quantity of alcoholic beverages without the fiscal stamp, as well as citizens GK, were found 2 mobile phones, suspected of serving for placing sports bets, which were seized as material evidence.
The materials in their charge were passed to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance Korça for the criminal offenses “Illegal employment”, “Trade and transportation of smuggled goods”, “Concealment of income”, “Exercising an illegal commercial activity” or unregistered with the tax authorities, not equipped with a fiscal cash register ”and“ Organization or exercise of gambling activities in violation of the law ”.
