Pogradec is getting ready for the summer tourist season but reservations are still at minimal levels.
Unlike other years when the demands were high, the lake city has so far been chosen by a part of the regular attendees coming from different cities of Albania. The effects of the war in Ukraine, the rise in the price of fuel, or consumer goods have increased the costs of everyday life by reducing the opportunity to rest.
In Pogradec, reservations from foreigners are also in the minimum quotas, while tour operators say that in order to maintain the same tourism figures as in previous years, they have preferred not to increase prices and to cover the additional costs themselves.
The town and villages on the shores of Lake Ohrid have been focused on tourism for years. To be accommodated for one night in Pogradec you need on average 1500 -2000 ALL per person, and it costs the same to consume a meal with traditional dishes but despite the cheap prices offered, vacationers are added travel costs or other expenses for have fun during the day.
