Prime Minister Edi Rama paid tribute to the Boulevard “Dëshmorët e Kombit”, in memory of the 4 victims of the tragedy of “January 21” 2011, together with the families of the deceased.
Rama and his family honored their memory by leaving flowers at the place where the 4 victims died.
Today marks 11 years since the assassination of 4 protesters who at that time were protesting in front of the Prime Minister, on January 21, 2011 when the Socialist Party was in opposition while the PD and LSI ruled together and the prime minister was then Sali Berisha, while Lulzim Basha was Minister of Interior.
Ziver Veizi, Aleks Nika, Hekuran Deda and Faik Myrtaj are the victims of January 21. Their relatives are still waiting for justice today. Last year, the Tirana Police, through a request, addressed the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office for the reopening of the “January 21” file.
Recall that the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office suspended the investigation of one of those killed on the boulevard, Aleks Nikën, in 2020.
