Ukrainian forces took to the streets of Kiev today with national guard troops along the Kiev highway, while confrontation with Russian troops is expected.

Fighting was reported in Obolon, on the outskirts of the city, in the early hours. Russian forces have also been seen in the districts of Vorzel, Bucha, Irpen.

More Russian troops and armored forces are advancing towards the capital from Konotop, east, bypassing the city of Chernihiv where they clashed with Ukrainian resistance.
