The Apple logo, already famous all over the world, seems to have been created by a machine, but a keen observer on the TikTok network has discovered that it is in fact an “illusion that uses a series of perfect circles”.
So the logo that adorns every iPhone, Mac and iPad is not at all what it looks like but an optical illusion that they had had for years under their noses and was not understood.
The well-known designer in the TikTok network, Thomas Stevens has recently revealed in a video the exact way the Apple logo was created, claiming it consists of just perfect bracelets, contrary to claims made by designer Rob Janoff.
Stevens first shows how the ‘bite’ of the apple is constructed in a circle, and then a series of other circles are combined to create the apple tail, and the other bows of the fruit.
Some claimed that Apple tended to use the ‘golden ratio’ in its design, which is the mathematical and geometric ratio found in nature’s creations that often creates the most pleasing designs to the human eye.
“Even the Windows logo is perfectly square,” wrote one user, referring to the Microsoft window-shaped logo.
Whether that’s true or not, designer Rob Janoff says he created it by cutting pieces from a real apple and then putting them together.
