The Pentagon expects more than 20 countries to take part in defense talks next week, which will focus on Ukraine.
The host country of the talks will be Germany, and they will focus in part on the long-term defense needs of Kiev, the Pentagon said on Friday, April 22nd.
Pentagon spokesman John Kirby seemed to lower expectations from announcing long-term aid in talks scheduled for Tuesday, April 26, saying:
“We are not entering into this in advance with a series of conclusions prepared here,” reports Reuters.
Kirby added that about 40 countries have been invited to the talks, which are not organized under the auspices of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), while also involving non-NATO countries.
