30-year-old Elis Suçi has been identified as one of the robbers of the Albanian post office branch in Kamza, from where 1.3 million ALL were taken.
A photo was taken from security camera footage in the area a few seconds after the robbery where the young man walked away with a bag of money in his hands, disguised in a hat and a black anti-Covid mask on his face.
It took police station no. 5 in Kamza only a few hours to uncover this event. Thanks to security camera footage in the area as well as operational data, police identified the two perpetrators, Elis Suçi and his friend Algert Kurti, who lived in a building a few meters away from the post office branch. Police were able to handcuff only 20-year-old Algert Kurti who told investigators that he had committed the robbery with his friend Elis Sulçi.
Investigations revealed that the originator of the robbery was 30-year-old Elis Suçi, who has a previous precedent in the field of theft and has already been declared wanted by the police. The 30-year-old observed the post office when the pension money was delivered to the residents of the area and saved the moment when there were only employees in the branch. He then, along with his friend, committed the robbery under the threat of a gun.
As material evidence, the police seized the detainee’s cell phone as well as the clothes used by the latter in the event, but did not find any trace of the stolen money and the firearm with which the post office counters were threatened.
