The Democratic Party has reacted to the statements of President Ilir Meta regarding the January 8 protest, asking him to stay away from the PD headquarters together with his people.
In the reaction it is said that Meta’s intervention is the same as Rama’s and shows that the two together with Berisha are united by a problem that has nothing to do with the DP or the Albanian citizens.
Reactions: Ilir Meta and his people should stay away from the headquarters of the Democratic Party. The time when the DP was used as a shield by Ilir Meta ended on September 9, when the DP distanced itself from Sali Berisha.
The intervention of the President of the Republic, like Edi Rama, in an internal debate in the Democratic Party, shows what we have said since the beginning, that the Berisha-Rama-Meta triangle is united by a big problem, but that is not the problem of Neither the Democratic Party nor the plight of the Albanian citizens.
Cleaning the sludge of transition is a mission for every democrat, for every Albanian citizen and is the only way for Albania to move forward towards the European future.
Yesterday, in an interview with the Macedonian media, the head of state blamed Lulzim Basha for the point reached today by the largest opposition party. According to Meta, Basha as president has been opposed by the Democrats and for this reason he should pave the way for a vote of confidence.
Meta: No Democrat deserved the events of January 8th. When a chairperson is challenged, he or she must undergo a vote of confidence. Must show or confirm his legitimacy. Unfortunately, an artificial and bloody confrontation has long been required. The “opposition leadership” is provoking a tension and claims in police uniforms to impose an authority it does not have. Because in a democracy, authority is won by a vote. Confirmed by vote. It does not win with the police. It is obtained by procedures. Every political crisis has only political solutions. The solution is votes.
