Albina, a 3rd year student at the Faculty of Economics does not feel ready to close her Bachelor studies cycle.
The two years of virtual learning due to the pandemic reflect today on the 20-year-old uncertainty about the future, because as she says she does not have the full knowledge to be a future financier:
“The period of the pandemic has been catastrophic. It seems to me that I am in the first year, many shortcomings, ambiguities… meanwhile now in the third year we have the diploma before. It remains after some we did not catch”.
In a classroom in the auditorium at the Faculty of Law, students’ non-participation in the discussion is noticed. Eralda Çani, pedagogue of administrative law for 2 decades shows that the grades of students with the closing of the first semester this academic year, reflect the problems of the past two years.
“The truth is that the field of two years ago has influenced the results of this semester. The average grade used to be 8 in my subjects, but this year it has dropped below 7. In addition to the indicative results is the lack of desire of students to be active and attentive in teaching“, Says the pedagogue.
The post-pandemic period is difficult even for first-year students like Erisi who face the audiences, as they have closed the gymnasium with pronounced shortcomings from the lesson conducted sometimes on WhatsApp and sometimes with reduced hours.
“I was a good student with an average of 9.7. but I had a grade drop of 0.8. due to truncated learning and complicated non-preparation tests. For this reason I also lost the scholarship“, Says student Eris Lazri.
“Students who come to us from the state matura seem to have problems with basic knowledge as well“, Says professor Igli Tola.
Two years of pandemic have left their mark on the education system, where the future is bleak for professionals to find skilled workers.
