The main data of the Report show that: The number of reported pages of content containing child sexual violence, compared to the period before Covid, tripled during 2021. Over 2,800 pages of content containing child sexual violence were reported to the National Safe Internet Line in Albania.Boys continue to report 2 times more than girls on ISIGURT.AL, but girls are the main victims of online violence and sexual harassment.
The most affected age of children and adolescents from online incidents is the 15-17 age group, which accounts for about 47% of all reported incidents.The main cities where incidents are reported are: Tirana (almost 50% of incidents) followed by Elbasan, Fieri, Durres, Peqin and Vlora.
Instagram is presented as the platform with the most reported incidents against children and young people, followed by Youtube and Facebook.
Data from AKEP, INSTAT and Internet companies show that at least 80 percent of children and adolescents in Albania have fast and unrestricted Internet access. Most children have uncontrolled internet access, due to the smart devices they use to get an education, especially during the time when schools closed en masse.
