The Special Prosecution of Kosovo, after an investigative work by the War Crimes Investigation Unit within the Kosovo Police, in cooperation with the State Prosecutor, today arrested the MoJ from Vitomirica of Peja, of Montenegrin nationality – a citizen of Kosovo, because of reasonable suspicion that he has committed the criminal offense of war crime against the civilian population.
The case concerns the offensive of the Serbian military, police and paramilitary forces dated 07.05.1999 in the region of Peja, where it is suspected that 9 civilians of Albanian nationality were killed and 5 other persons disappeared, also Albanian civilians.
By order of the State Prosecutor, the defendant is under the measure of arrest and police detention, to be brought before the Pre-Trial Judge, within the legal deadline.
