Another person from Cameroon was arrested this Thursday by the police as an accomplice of the citizen Jose Ngankam, who a week ago was caught in Rinas with a million counterfeit euros.
Zindine Foungue Nkeh, a 44-year-old Cameroonian and Paris resident, was also handcuffed by police. Another person, whose identity has not been released due to the investigation, has also been declared wanted.
We emphasize that these two citizens in cooperation with each other have tried to put into circulation in the territory of the Republic of Albania about 1 million Euros, banknotes which have been seized from the citizen Jose Ngankam.
In a press release, the police said that thanks to the operation codenamed “Lastra”, the Cameroonian citizen Josoue Ngakam, 53 years old, was arrested in flagrante delicto, with a residence permit in one of the European Union countries.
During the control by the Police services, in the luggage of this citizen were found significant quantities of suspected counterfeit banknotes and plates (papers used to produce banknotes of various denominations).
As material evidence, 1 million and 75 thousand euros of suspected counterfeit euros, plates, special paper for the production of euro banknotes and a mobile phone were seized.
The materials were handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Tirana Judicial District for the criminal offense provided by the article “Counterfeiting of Coins”.
