Prime Minister Edi Rama has called a national shame the protest that is being held for several days in a row by thousands of Albanians for the increase of prices.
In the meeting with the pensioners for the Social Resistance package, Rama said that this government has listened to every protest that has been held so far, where it mentioned student protests or for chemical weapons.
According to the head of government, unlike the time when you went out in protest and could be killed, today all citizens are heard, but according to him this protest was not started by the people, but by other people.
Raman: Even people who have not had damage from the earthquake and people sick from the pandemic, have had stress, as we could not even bill the increase in the price of energy. We have put a financial shield, which we have declared since the first moments of the crisis. From the next bill you will also receive this information, to tell you how much is the real price and how much is the difference that the government pays. This government is the complete opposite of what some others paint with propaganda, who come out in crowds and make Albania the only country that protests against the consequences of the war.
An honorable professor I respect, Fatos Tarifa, wrote an open letter to me, scolding me for being impatient with the protesters’ reprimands and arrogance towards them.
That protest is a national shame and not an arrogance. The facts are there and memory can confirm what I say. There has been no government more cautious about protests. When you ate the bullet if you went out in protest, now we have listened to the protests with respect. We have respected the institution of protests. It is democratic that can bring added value to governance.
With the protest for chemical weapons, then with the trout fee for the residents of Kukës and with the student protest, ie when the government reacted. In Kukës I went out and asked and sorry that it was not the residents of Kukës who were wrong. If someone protesting is right, then the right is no more with me. No part of society knows it all. Even a citizen who goes out there and raises his voice, may be right, so I consider it a positive quality for a leader to acknowledge that whoever is protesting may be right and take it as a basis for policy change. What we did for the students was motivated by their protest, not that we did not know that the dormitories needed intervention, but simply were not our goal in those moments. Even the opposition protests, the hardest protests that a political party can make, never as we have treated with disrespect, but this is an incomparable shame of all those who incite, who are not ashamed, have made a divorce with the shame of a bull bull father, that you know.
Pity those who come from side to side to protest, pay those who come here with two fingers? We know very well who they are, shame on those who support this protest, that this is a protest that ugly Albania, that shames the Albanian. In the few days that the war started there was a friend with prizes but what will we do if this story goes on for months and years, we go out to eat each other with our teeth?
