The acting Minister of Health in Northern Macedonia, Venko Fillipce, held a meeting with the unions of health workers, where he promised a 5% increase in monthly salaries for each employee of the health sector.
Minister Fillipçe, said that the government will allocate about 600 million denars, or about 10 million euros related to increasing the salaries of doctors and nurses.
The Minister also focused on the last 4 years, regarding what his party SDSM and the government of Zoran Zaev have done for health workers.
Fillipçe added that SDSM in power has restored the dignity of doctors and medical staff, increasing the basic salaries for specialist doctors by 40%, nurses by 3%, general practitioners by 25% and assistant doctors by 15%.
The salaries of specialist doctors were almost doubled, the minister declared and added that the specialists were also supported, as their shifts were compensated.
Citizens deserve the best medical care, while health workers deserve decent conditions to do their job.
