Ukrainians gathered in a rally in central Kiev and called for the safe evacuation of civilians and trapped soldiers at the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol.
They decided to protest with placards in their hands which had the colors of the Ukrainian flag.
The BBC reports that some of the women and children in the protest are said to be members of the family of Azov fighters.
So far it is suspected that 200 civilians have been trapped in the factory, while the attacks have been going on for several weeks.
The evacuation of civilians has started for two days, but in some cases the attacks have been obstructed.
