The Speaker of Parliament, Lindita Nikolla, met this morning with the Ambassador of the OSCE Presence in Tirana, Vincenzo del Monaco.
During the meeting, they discussed the cooperation between the Assembly and the OSCE Presence during 2021, as well as some priorities for cooperation for the coming year.
President Nikolla praised the Presence’s contribution to the consolidation of democratic institutions as well as the commitment of Ambassador Vincenzo Del Monaco for his professionalism and contribution within the OSCE and Albania. Albanian institutions have valued the Presence as an important partner and have continued cooperation in several areas, in accordance with its mandate and the priorities of the Government of Albania in the European integration process.
“Implementation, with the support of the EU and international partners, of reforms in the priority areas for the consolidation of democracy and law enforcement institutions in Albania, justice reform, electoral reform, the fight against organized crime and corruption, the promotion of good governance and the strengthening of civil society, have also had the support and close co-operation of the OSCE and the Parliamentary Assembly. We are confident that this cooperation and support will continue. “I express my gratitude to the Parliamentary Assembly and the OSCE for the cooperation with the Assembly, especially for the support of strengthening the ties of the deputies with the citizens and the improvement of transparency”, underlined the Speaker of the Assembly, Mrs. Lindita Nikolla.
Ambassador del Monaco thanked President Nikolla for the evaluation of the cooperation between the Assembly and the OSCE Presence and noted that the OSCE that the performance of the Albanian Parliament during this serves as a model for the parliaments of the countries in the region, as well as for political cooperation. , as well as for technical and administrative cooperation with parliamentary services. Ambassador del Monaco praised the reforms undertaken by Albania and assured the support of the OSCE for their advancement and deepening.
