Russian citizens will from today require a visa to enter Ukraine after Kiev scrapped a decade-old visa-free regime that eased cross-border travel for citizens of both countries.
The decision to end the visa-free regime was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday, following a petition by a Ukrainian citizen.
Zelensky said that against the background of Russia’s occupation, he supported the introduction of stricter controls on the entry of its citizens.
