“This will significantly simplify the rules that apply and provide passengers with additional clarity and predictability,” the EU Council said in a statement. Health Commissioner Stella Kyriakides and Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders called on members to implement common rules, stressing clarity and predictability for EU citizens, the key to safe travel.
“Close coordination at EU level has been essential, not only for the functioning of the single market, but especially to ensure clarity and security for people traveling within the EU,” the joint statement said.
