The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, has inspected the works for the construction of the new Kurbin Hospital, after the earthquake damage of November 26, 2019.
Manastirliu said that despite the difficulties, this new hospital will be completed soon, while the service to the citizens of Laç and the surrounding areas has not been interrupted at any point.
“After the earthquake damage this building could not be repaired except to be demolished and rebuilt from scratch. We managed to make a quick project and outline all the services that the city and the municipality of Kurbin need, in terms of services to citizens and quick access to basic services. This is a hospital structure that will include the polyclinic, so it will have all the reception facilities for consultations, there will be emergency rooms, which will be equipped with all necessary materials and equipment. There will be 3 wards which according to the flow of patients, will be organized by the hospital itself for specialized services “, declared Manastirliu.
The Minister of Health described the new Kurbin Hospital as a model that will serve to build and organize all other municipal hospitals in the country.
“We thus create a model to apply in other municipalities, in order to improve services, the strategy we have for the organization of the hospital system in our country and the regionalization of hospital services, given that we have already made investments in the system. our investments, investments in new maternity hospitals, investments in new hospitals, investments that we are starting for municipal hospitals, starting from Kurbin Hospital and further continuing with Kruja hospital and other municipal hospitals, will be able to give us an efficiency of managing our resources, both human and financial, so that citizens receive services close to home, but also doctors and nurses have very dignified working conditions“, Said Manastirliu.
Minister Manastirliu has requested to work intensively so that with the filling of the inhabitants in the new apartments, the hospital will be ready for operation.
During the inspection of the works was present the mayor of Kurbin Majlinda Cara, who said that this is a very important investment for the residents of Kurbin.
“Today, the residents of Kurbin must see and understand it because the hospital is nearing completion, we have definitely had those administrative problems, as we had with other construction sites, but it is already being finalized and we will have the municipal hospital and I believe which is one of the best hospitals in all municipal hospitals “, said Majlinda Cara.
The 50-year-old building where Kurbin Hospital operated was damaged by the earthquake of November 26, 2019. The reconstruction of Kurbin Hospital has a total investment value of 2.8 million Euros and a construction area of 2516 m2 and is expected to be completed within March this year. More than 46 thousand citizens of Kurbin municipality will receive health services according to the best standards, after the completion of this new hospital.
