A new 9-year school is being built in the area known as the Madrasa, on Dibra Street.
On the site of the former UKT old building, the building is expected to open in September.
“This September we open a bouquet of new schools. Here used to be the old UKT building, in which we are building a school near the Madrasa area. With the opportunity given to us by the reconstruction after the earthquake, today we have a new school here, another at the beginning of “Rruga e Dibra”, and at the first turn on the road “Siri Kodra” we have another school. So, with these 3 new schools, practically the whole segment of “Rruga e Dibra” is solved, which is one of the areas not only older, but also the most populated of Tirana, which will continue to grow“, Said the mayor Erion Veliaj.
Veliaj stressed that 10 more schools will be added soon, to end the teaching with two shifts.
The Mayor underlined that the construction of new educational institutions has increased the value of citizens’ property. “Many adobe houses give way to a new development, this development brings new families and one of the reasons why the value of property in Tirana has increased, is that they have a school very close. We are today in about 40 new schools, but we will also have a package with 10 new schools this year. We will debate, that in this country one does not walk without doing politics, but at least we will no longer debate about two-shift teaching. We start now at the “Partizani” gymnasium, we will open “Sami Frashëri” this spring, and we get ready for the school year“, Declared Veliaj.
Veliaj also assured the residents affected by the earthquake that despite the price movement, the promise will be kept for them as well. He underlined that the numerous infrastructure construction sites in the capital have also turned into job generators.
The project of the new school envisages the construction of a building 3 floors above ground and 1 underground floor equipped with laboratories and sports fields.
