The manager of the restaurant where the assassination took place the day before in “Don Bosko” in Tirana, which left one victim and four injured, has given new details for the show ‘Albania Live’.
Manager Daniel Lika tells how the serious incident happened, while he says that the Mercedes-Benz type vehicle, after approaching the bar, started firing Kalashnikovs in one direction, and then they turned the car at high speed and fired again.
There were 4 or 5 tables in the bar at the time of the crime, says Lika, adding that none of the waiters or bartenders were injured, dismissing suspicions that 19-year-old Azbi Selmanaj, who was injured yesterday, was local employee.
“When we were in the bar, a group passed by the car and fired in the direction of the left wing, then they came out in the right wing. There were 4-5 tables in the bar when the event took place. Waiters and bartenders have been inside. “No waiter has been injured as it turned out earlier”, said Lika.
The manager says that the victim, Erion Cela, together with his wife, were daily customers, as they also had their own business near this restaurant. Lika says that Erjoni was not a man of quarrels or conflicts
“They were everyday because they have a business with our restaurant, they may have had old conflicts but here at the restaurant they did not have any conflict. “He is not a type of quarrel man, but here they have never quarreled or for any conflict near the bar”.
The manager further says that the victim and the injured were consuming coffee and were with their wives, while they had left only 5 minutes after a Kalashnikov was fired in their direction.
“Panic, shouting, running away, a lot of fear for the customers for the staff. The ambulance did not know for how many minutes but it was delayed, the victim left the bar for about an hour. “The wife was at the table five minutes before the event took place, while 5 minutes after she left, the assassination took place there”, said Lika.
Tuesday’s assassination is suspected to have targeted Edmond Crrojin, who is one of the people in critical condition in the intensive care unit of the Trauma Hospital. While the other two persons, Arben Dani and Azbi Selmanaj are in the ward and out of danger for life.
Crroji remained injured in the abdomen and underwent surgery. According to doctors, his condition seems stable at the moment, but he still needs intensive care from the white shirts.
The victim’s brother, who was injured in the face, is still in a serious condition. At the request of his family, Blerim Çela was sent to a private hospital in the capital and is receiving specialized treatment.
Police did not find the cartridges at the scene although investigators suspect he was shot about 15 times. This element adds to the suspicions that it was a well-organized assassination.
