Jurgen Duka, Meziri was killed today at midnight, in the premises of a market after a quarrel over the payment queue at the cash register of the store.
The incident happened a few minutes after midnight, when two groups of young people were buying drinks in a market on “Irfan Tomini” street. As can be seen from the security footage, the young people are pushing each other, while their friends try to stop them so as not to escalate the situation. The victim, 29-year-old Jurgen Duka, punched a still unidentified person while the latter avoided pulling out a pistol and shooting him, leaving him lying on the ground.
Everyone leaves at the moment while the victim was taken urgently to the hospital where he later lost his life due to injuries. Police are working to identify the perpetrator while the victim’s friends are being questioned. It is learned that Jurgen Duka is a person with a previous criminal record. In 2020 he was handcuffed along with Elison Hysenbelli as part of the anti-drug operation between Italy and Albania that took place in Marche, Emilia Romagna, Lombardy and Liguria and would be extradited to the neighboring country for trial.
It remains unclear how the victim was released from the cell, while work continues by authorities to identify and arrest the perpetrator of the murder. Operation “Riviera” was conducted by the Regional Anti-Mafia Prosecutor’s Office in Bologna, in cooperation with the Carabinieri Special Operations Group (ROS) in Bologna.
