During these holidays, especially for the Christmas holiday, the Municipality of Tirana has thought to be close to families and children with economic difficulties, to give them the opportunity to celebrate like everyone else.
Mayor Erion Veliaj was today at the new Community Center Kombinat, where he distributed gifts to children of families in economic difficulties. Veliaj appealed for more solidarity during these holidays.
Veliaj: I am very proud of you and I am very happy to be here today, in a bigger, more beautiful space. It is an environment where children come to do homework, where we also help some special children, who need a little more help, and make sure everyone excels. P
or, of course, this is also an environment for grandparents, so that they too have a place to meet each other, to eat a warm meal. I very much hope that when you grow up, you will continue this work. If we grow up in this city with love, the city becomes even better than it is. If someone needs a kind word, to knock on the door and say happy holidays, it would warm their heart a lot.
The mayor said that the center offers not only a shelter and warm meals for the elderly and people in need, but also services for children with different abilities, such as physiotherapy, art therapy and free speech therapy. As it has already turned into a tradition, the Municipality of Tirana, in the framework of the end-of-year holidays, has thought this year to be as close as possible to the children who attend community centers together with their family by distributing gifts.
