Thermo-nuclear missiles were fired into the streets of Moscow as a shuddering warning to the West as dictator Vladimir Putin prepares for his country’s grand annual Victory Day parade over Nazism on May 9th.
The Kremlin chief’s hopes were to celebrate a triumph in Ukraine on this day, but so far, the Russian military, not even two months after the start of the aggression, has managed to take control of any important city in the neighboring country, although has savagely tightened its grip especially on Mariupol.

The Kremlin does not refer to the fighting in Ukraine as a “war,” but describes Putin’s decision as a “special military operation.”
Some believe the Russian president could use the day to declare the operation a war in order to boost Russia’s national commitment. The Soviet Union lost 27 million people in World War II, which it called the Great Patriotic War.
Victory Day is considered a rare event among deep national divisions, admired by all political players.
