“Money Week” is an activity that takes place in many countries around the world and aims to raise awareness of students and young people about the importance of money, providing knowledge on the economic and financial system at home and abroad.
The event held at the Museum of the Bank of Albania was attended by the Minister of Education and Sports Evis Kushi, the Governor of the Bank of Albania Gent Sejko, the President of the Albanian Banking Association Silvio Pedrazzi, as well as executives of other banks operating in Albania , students, teachers.
During her speech, Minister Kushi said that financial education in the pre-university education system is an inseparable policy, based on the core curriculum, with the subject of citizenship in basic education, as well as the subject of economics in the twelfth grade.
She said Albanian society needs to work even harder to give money the right place and the right value.
“By educating students or young people financially, we help the whole society. We improve the mentality and attitude we have towards money. This means that we educate students on how to spend money but also how to save it. We educate students how to win, but how to win honestly. How to set up a business, but how to set up an honest business “said Kushi.
Minister Kushi also gave a special emphasis to the financial education of students in terms of negative phenomena related to money, such as corruption, money laundering or tax evasion.
“I thank the Bank of Albania and the Albanian Association of Banks, but in the meantime I want to invite all enterprises and other banks to become part of this great campaign for the awareness not only of students, young men and women, but of the whole society “said the minister.
