These are the moments when a $ 6 million superyacht burns in flames and consequently sinks into a Spanish port.
Dramatic views show the 30-meter-long yacht ‘Pesa’ anchored in the northern marina of the Spanish port of Valencia.
Six firefighters battled for nearly 12 hours to rescue the Sanlorenzo SX88 luxury boat but to no avail.
Stunned spectators watched from the sides of the harbor and their boats before the giant flames engulfed the anchored vehicle.
Authorities say they are investigating the cause of the unexplained fire.
Reports said the boat had more than 9,000 liters of fuel in the tanks, which were not affected by the accident.
There were no injuries or other damage from the fire. Some reports said the fire was started by a defect in the lithium batteries of the vessel.
The owner of the boat is still unknown.
The yacht can accommodate eight people in four bedrooms and has a living room with a giant TV.
One of the spectators said: “It is interesting because there is currently a lot of ‘action’ in the world of superyachts, so I wonder if it has to do with the Russian oligarchs or the conflict.”
Another said: “Any oligarch who owned it now will go and ask for insurance money.”
