Flamur Noka has continued today the accusations that Sali Berisha launched the day before against the son of the Minister of Interior, Bledi Çuçi.
According to Berisha, Endi Çuçi claims that several other people have been investigated for drug smuggling and it is alleged that Albanian patients received forged health cards in Italy during the pandemic. The former prime minister posted on his social network “Facebook”, some documents sent to him by a digital citizen by the Italian judicial authority.
Noka, in a statement to the media this Saturday, demands the resignation of the Minister of Interior, after saying that his son has been proven to be involved in drug trafficking from Italy at the height of the Covid pandemic 19.
Noka Flag Statement:
Today I am here to denounce in front of the Albanian citizens, another serious scandal involving the son of the Minister of Interior Bledi Çuçi, a scandal that has long been deliberately hidden from the public.
Interior Minister Bledi Çuçi continues to remain in office, despite the fact that his son has been proven to be involved in drug trafficking from Italy at the height of the COVID 19 pandemic.
And even worse!
Edi Rama, just as he defended Saimir Tahiri involved in drug trafficking, just as he defended Fatmir Xhafa for his brother drug trafficker, just as he defended mayors and MPs – traffickers and other lawbreakers, is doing everything to keep the involvement scandal hidden of Bledi Çuçi’s son in a criminal trafficking affair in Italy and keep him Minister of Interior.
If there was a state in Albania with a functioning democracy and not a regime, Bledi Çuçi, even if he did not resign, should have been fired immediately.
Bledi Çuçi has been silent about the role of his son in the trafficking scheme, revealed by the Italian law enforcement authorities, but his deliberate silence cannot cover the serious facts.
It is a fact that the son of the Minister of Interior of Albania has crossed the border with forged documents
It is a fact that the son of the Minister of Interior of Albania has crossed the border with Italy illegally in order to transport medicines, part of the abuse scheme of 600 thousand euros.
It is a fact that both of these are part of the accusation against the son of the Minister of Interior of Albania, as stated in the preliminary investigations of the Milan Prosecutor’s Office.
Thus:
• On page 4 of the investigation, Endi Çuçi is first on the list of persons who have cheated by falsifying medical documents to enter Italy illegally and to defraud the Italian health system;
• On page 9 of the preliminary investigation, the son of the Minister of Interior of Albania is mentioned in the capacity of the person who transported the drugs to Albania on behalf of the head of the criminal scheme. Bledi Çuçi’s son is charged with “using money, goods or other benefits derived from a crime; in economic or financial activity ”according to Article 648 of the Criminal Code of the Italian Republic. This offense is punishable by a fine of up to 25 thousand euros up to 12 years in prison;
The son of the Minister of Interior is also mentioned in other parts of the investigative file, where the idea of investigators is consolidated about his role of transporting medicines illegally.
These undeniable facts of the involvement of Andi Çuçi as a transporter in the illegal activity of drug trafficking should have led to the resignation of his father, Minister of Interior.
First, Endi Çuçi. He had full immunity from the Albanian police as the son of the Minister of Interior when he crossed the Albanian border with forged letters as if he was going to Italy for treatment. That is the only reason why Bledi Çuçi should resign, bearing political and moral responsibilities.
Secondly, Endi Çuçi has made the trafficking of illegally trafficked drugs quiet on the Albanian side of the border, as long as his father was the chief of police.
Even for this, Bledi Çuçi bears political responsibility and should have resigned. Every day that the Minister of Interior stays in office is a bad image for Albania!
Albania has suffered a lot from foreign media headlines for interior ministers of Edi Rama’s government, who directly helped drug traffickers or covered up the criminal acts of the drug trafficking brothers.
It’s up to Bledi Çuçi to be more responsible than his predecessors! Resignation is the least he can do to not tarnish the country’s face even more.
