Orsolya Gaal’s body was tucked into a sports bag and then thrown about a mile from her home, before the killer threatened her husband.
A woman whose body was packed in a sports bag is believed to have been killed in the basement of her home after meeting a man who was not her husband.
Orsolya Gaal was tragically found in the Forest Hills area of New York, with about 60 stab wounds including deep cuts to the throat and protective wounds to the hands.
Police said she was killed in the basement of the house before being pulled out into a large bag, according to officials who spoke to the PIX11 News network. Sources said Gaal had told his son he was going out with friends but tragically it did not turn out that way.
Investigators said the bloody bag had led them to the enclosed luxury community.
They added that Ms. Gaal’s husband, businessman Howard Klein, was on a business trip with his 17-year-old son at the time of the murder, when he received an apparently shocking message from the killer with the victim’s cell phone. Sources said it read: “Your family is next.”
A police source told PIX11 News that the killing was “revenge after he had put him in jail a few years ago”.
Police questioned the 13-year-old boy, who is believed to have been at the family’s $ 2 million home at the time of the murder.
Local media reported that Ms. Gaal had told her son she was going out with some friends but was actually with a man.
Her body was found by a member of the public on the morning of April 16th.
The witness who found the bag with the body inside said: “It looked like a mannequin to me”.
“Or like those dolls for car crash tests. “But when I looked closely I saw the blood at the bottom of the bag and I realized it was the body of a dead man.”
No arrests have yet been made by police and no suspects have been identified.
Neighbors of the family said they looked polite and normal.
Nicola Blankson said the family had lived there for nine years and remembered the woman killed.
“She lived her life, she took care of the children, like any other mother. “That would be the last thing I could expect when I woke up this morning. It’s devastating.”
Another neighbor, who did not want to be named, said the family were “good people.”
“I knew something had happened because there were a lot of cops,” he said, adding that Gaal was a housewife and spent a lot of time with the children.
Police said investigations into the case are ongoing.
