Publicist Milaim Zeka writes that Baton Haxhiu may have received an invitation from the Special Court and could be arrested on charges of interfering in the Judiciary for publishing the file with data on former KLA leaders being held in The Hague.
Here is what is written in Zeka’s post:
“After the publication of the files, where the target was the senior official of LVV, Rexhep Selimi, currently imprisoned in The Hague, the Special Prosecution at the Hague Tribunal, has invited Baton Haxhiu as a suspect for obstruction and interference in justice.
According to very reliable sources, this prosecution has followed with more concern the publication of these files, the publication of the names of potential witnesses, considering this “as obstruction of the investigation, and interference in justice”, an accusation for which also Nasim Haradinaj and Gucati are currently being held in The Hague.
According to the sources of this prosecution, Baton Haxhiu has made such an action “intentionally and with full awareness”, since he has intervened in the past in the Hague Tribunal, where he was previously convicted for such an act.
In all likelihood, Haxhiu could be arrested based on this accusation, even though the publications were not made in the territory of Kosovo but in Albania in an attempt to escape the Kosovo legislation. However, the Special Court has a mandate not only on the physical territory of Kosovo, but on any person, act or deed wherever it is consumed in connection with the alleged war crimes over which it has a mandate.
