On the occasion of May 5, “Martyrs’ Day”, the President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, commemorated and honored the heroism and sublime sacrifices of the martyrs, who gave their lives for the freedom and sovereignty of our homeland.
President Meta paid homage and laid a wreath at the Monument “Mother Albania”, bowing respectfully in memory of the Martyrs of the Fatherland, and honored the heroism and sublime sacrifices of all those who gave their lives for freedom.
On this day of remembrance and honor to the Martyrs of the Fatherland, the President of the Republic said:
“It is a very important day, the Day of the Martyrs, the Day of the Heroes, of the best sons and daughters of Albania, who gave their lives for the liberation of the Homeland.
It is a day, not only to honor their most sublime sacrifices, but at the same time, a day of reflection and commitment, to always have sacred, the sovereignty, freedom and independence of the Homeland.
Not only that, but also for a better future for all Albanians, especially for the young men and women of Albania.
