Within March, the new Pediatric Hospital in Elbasan will be opened, part of the government’s investments for the revitalization of the network of pediatrics and maternity hospitals in the country.
The Minister of Health and Defense Ogerta Manastirliu, together with the general secretary of the Socialist Party and the political leader of the Elbasan region Damian Gjiknuri and the mayor of Elbasan Gledian Llatja, have inspected the new Pediatric Hospital in Elbasan.
“It is an investment that will be worthwhile for the region of Elbasan, will raise the standard of service, working conditions for doctors and nurses reach contemporary levels and standards. We want to open this new investment in March “, said Manastirliu.
Speaking about the increase of quality and standard of service, Manastirliu said that in the Elbasan Regional Hospital, thanks to recent investments, university services will be provided, while the strengthening of human resources capacities in regional hospitals will continue.
The general secretary of the Socialist Party, Damian Gjiknuri, praised the work and investments of the government for health in the Elbasan region: “Really, this work is very welcome for the Elbasan region. The people of Elbasan are witnesses for the transformation that the hospital has undergone “, said Gjiknuri.
During the inspection at the Hospital of Elbasan, Minister Manastirliu stressed the importance of investing in the service of laboratories, which is being extended to all regional hospitals and two municipal hospitals.
“From about 50 tests performed in this hospital, as in any regional hospital, today over 160 types of tests are performed and are laboratory examinations with standards that we are guaranteeing for all regional hospitals, universities and two municipal hospitals, which is the hospital of Lushnja and that of Saranda “, said Manastirliu.
“This is one of the things they accuse in quotes, why the government has made a public-private partnership to create this laboratory in Elbasan as well as in other hospitals and for those who file such accusations should understand that these services are for the public. “Once a citizen came here and was offered a minimum of tests, no more than 50 in the best case, and what happened to the others, others went to the private sector, and paid them in lek, now they have them here for free”, said Gjiknuri.
After the completion of Durrës Pediatrics, the major investment for the reconstruction and expansion of Pediatrics in the Mother Teresa University Hospital Center, the reconstruction of Elbasan Pediatrics is another investment for the modernization of the health service for children, near the residence. The new pediatrics of Elbasan will have 75 beds and will be a hospital of modern standards and friendly to children. Regarding the laboratory service, the new network of laboratories through public-private partnership has already been extended to 16 university, regional and municipal hospitals, while it is expected to be extended to two regional hospitals.
