Renowned actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has made a humane gesture to change the lives of veterans this holiday season.
The 74-year-old donated 25 homes to Los Angeles area veterans who had previously lived on the streets.
The former governor of California revealed the news on Twitter, about the houses donated this week calling them as an early Christmas gift.
“Today, I celebrated Christmas early. The 25 homes I donated to homeless veterans were installed here in LA. “It was fantastic to spend some time with our heroes and welcome them to their new homes.”, he wrote on Twitter on Thursday.
Schwarzenegger also thanked the nonprofit organization Village for Vets, as well as the Office of the Secretary of Veterans Affairs and American Veterans Affairs (AMVets) for their assistance, according to People.
The Village for Vets secured the homes, which Schwarzenegger made possible with a $ 250,000 donation, according to FOX 11.
Village for Vets Website explains that the small shelters, donated by Schwarzenegger, “They provide a high standard of living from tent camps while veterans are on their journey to finding permanent shelter and stability.”
Each house has heating, electricity and air conditioning.
Schwarzenegger said in a Twitter post that acts of kindness are “what Christmas’s all about.”
“You all have the power to do something for someone else this holiday season. It does not have to be big. “Just give a few minutes of your time to help someone else.” continued the actor.
