A large parade of military troops and equipment marked Pakistan’s national day in Islamabad yesterday.
On the same day, Pakistan hosted a meeting of foreign ministers of Muslim countries, attended by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
In the parade, the Islamic country displayed elite army units and numerous military vehicles such as missiles, tanks, planes and other modern equipment.
Troops, including women, marched in front of the podium, saluting the country’s president, prime minister, army chief and other officials.
The parade was attended by foreign ministers of Islamic Organization countries and the Chinese foreign minister.
Thousands chanted “Long live Pakistan!” as military planes flew over the skies and pre-troops descended with ropes from helicopters.
Pakistan celebrates National Day on March 23, 1940, when Muslim leaders in the eastern city of Lahore sought independence from Britain.
