French President Emmanuel Macron has addressed his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, saying he was making a big mistake with Ukraine.
A French official told Reuters that Macron had said Putin was lying to himself that he could invade Ukraine.
“You are lying to yourselfMacron told Putin during the call, the official said.
“It will cost your country dearly, your country will end up isolated, weakened and under sanctions for a very long time“, Added Putin.
The Russian president reiterated his determination to ensure the neutralization and disarmament of Ukraine, whether diplomatically or by arms, the official told Reuters.
