French President Emmanuel Macron said he had called Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He says the Ukrainian leader asked him to contact Putin because Zelensky’s calls were not being made.
Macron says he called Putin to ask him to stop military operations, and the call was “sincere, direct, quick.”
“It was also to ask him to discuss with President Zelensky, who had asked for this but could not.”Macron told reporters after an EU summit in Brussels.
