The measures put in place in Luxembourg over the last two years to control the spread of the coronavirus will be largely eased following a decision taken today by the legislature.
Unvaccinated persons will be allowed once again in bars and restaurants, hotels and sports facilities, as long as they provide evidence of a negative Covid-19 test.
Also, the 23:00 curfew will be lifted for bars and restaurants, while discos and clubs will be allowed to reopen. There are no more restrictions on private gatherings and contact persons will no longer have to be quarantined. The law, which was approved by 28 votes out of 38, enters into force late Friday.
The number of new coronavirus infections in Luxembourg has dropped recently. Between January 31 and February 6, the seven-day incidence per 100,000 inhabitants was 1,733, compared to 2,350 a week earlier, according to the Ministry of Health.
