The Court against Corruption and Organized Crime has sentenced Orges Bilbili and Anterio Kaloshi to life imprisonment, after they were found guilty of the event known as the “Lushnja Massacre” in October 2017.
SPAK says that in an attempt to eliminate Julio Shkurti, the grandson of the former leader of the Lushnja gang, Aldo Bare, Zamir Latifi and Jurgen Hoxha were killed and Marjus Xhepexhiu and Bujar Turku were injured.
The defendants were charged with several criminal offenses, including “murder in qualifying circumstances” against two or more persons and “structured criminal group”.
In the same decision, the court acquitted the defendants of the charge of “premeditated murder” remaining attempted against Julio February, dismissing this charge against them.
According to SPAK, the criminal group, which also includes other as yet unidentified persons, was created with the intention of killing Shkurti, who on the day of the event had left his group of friends a few seconds before they were fired upon.
SPAK prosecutors concluded that the crime was motivated by revenge, referring to a history of conflict between the families of Julio Shkurti and Laert Haxhiu, started during the activity of the infamous gang in Lushnja, in 1998.
