The chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha was received by a group of protesters in Durrës this Saturday, while he arrived to meet the membership and PD supporters in this city.
Supporters of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha loudly shout “Basha ik”, while some of them have clashed with the group that supports the leader of the Democratic Party.
The presence of numerous police forces has kept the situation under control and the conflict should not escalate further.
Berisha’s supporters have referred to Basha as a traitor and called on him to accept the result of the free vote of the Democrats.
The protest took place in the main square of Durrës, in front of the “Aleksandër Moisiu” theater, where Basha’s meeting with his supporters is currently being held, while the protesters continue to stay in the square.
Basha was also accompanied by a group of protesters against him, in every meeting held with supporters in several cities of the country.
The deep and violent clash to take control of the blue headquarters in Tirana, has left the place for the meetings of Lulzim Basha and Sali Berisha in a tour throughout the country.
The two Democrats have rallied forces to keep their supporters close, as the Democratic Party’s domestic political situation becomes increasingly tense.
The protest called by Seli Berisha at the PD headquarters at noon on January 8 marked the culmination of the internal disputes of the Democratic Party.

Those who wanted to make the entrance through the windows, where they were confronted with tear gas thrown from inside the PD headquarters.
After more than two hours of protest, the police intervention at the request of the DP caused the protesters to disperse, while Berisha was inside the headquarters.
