Lack of subsidies has led farmers to abandon livestock establishments. The budget for agriculture for 2022 amounts to 29.5 million Euros, this money will be invested in agriculture through 5 subsidy schemes. But even this time, livestock, which is considered the most endangered sector, has again been left out of attention by the Ministry of Agriculture.
NDOC FASLLIA, AGRICULTURE EXPERT: “If we refer to INSTAT data we see that about 70% of livestock farms have less than 5 -10 cows. While the decision provides for support for farms that have over 10 heads. Automatically 70% of these livestock farms are excluded from support. ”
The dairy industry needs raw milk, but the disappearance of local livestock establishments makes us give priority to livestock in Serbia by buying the milk of Serbian farmers.
According to the national scheme for the registered cattle herd for farms not less than 100 sheep or goats will be given 1,200 Lekë per head, but not more than 360,000 Lek per subject, while for farms not less than 10 heads of cows, each farmers will receive 10,000 Lekë per head, but not more than 500,000 Lekë per subject. According to agriculture expert Ndoc Fasllia, livestock should be the key word of the national scheme for 2022.
