The first months of 2022 have marked a decrease in the quota of Lake Fierza in Kukës, where compared to a year ago in the same period the quotas have been at an average level.
January and the first weeks of February have marked a decrease in the quota in Lake Fierza, compared to December last year. This is due to lack of rainfall and dry weather, despite sporadic rainfall during January and early February.
The latest data of the Albanian Electricity Corporation, indicate that the level of the lake of the HPP Fierza is 268.12 m, while the maximum quota is 296 m. At the end of December 2021, the quota of Lake Fierza was about 278 meters above sea level.
Meanwhile, the inflows have decreased compared to December last year. Natural inflows at the Fierza HPP are currently estimated at 100 m3 / s while inflows in December 2021 reached 280 cubic meters of water per second.
The Albanian Electric Power Corporation informed this week that currently 4 turbines of the Fierza HPP are in operation.
