Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov answered questions from reporters at a news conference following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
In line with Vladimir Putin, he said Moscow did not want to invade Ukraine – but to “demilitarize” it.
Asked if it was Russia’s desire to overthrow a democratic country, Lavrov implied that the country could not be called democratic.
He then made claims about Ukraine’s treatment of Russian-speaking people in the country.
