A karstic pit about 20 meters deep and 10 meters wide has appeared near the village of Çestije in Belsh.
The natural phenomenon is common for the Dumrea area which counts over 80 lakes created as a result of karst phenomena.
The pit has swallowed the road and has caused panic among the residents.
Specialists say that in 360 km2, the Dumrea area is cardiac due to the melting of gypsum and lime rocks.
But studies are needed as the phenomenon could endanger even inhabited neighborhoods.
