The Director of the University Clinical Hospital Service of Kosovo (SHSKUK), Valbon Krasniqi, has stated about whether there will be an increase in cases of COVID-19 virus after the rallies that were held during the election campaign.
“It is difficult to predict how much we will increase the number of new cases, however the pandemic has taught us that every time there is non-compliance with the measures a large number of infected can be expected. We are following the epidemiological situation closely and depending on the situation that will arise, we will respond. “However, I urge citizens to respect anti-COVID measures.”
He said that the situation with the pandemic is currently manageable and that 485 patients are hospitalized in all hospitals, of which 336 are on oxygen therapy.
“Currently the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic is manageable since the beginning of January, we have a much more favorable situation from the epidemiological point of view where the number of new cases has managed to stabilize around 300 per day. “In our hospitals we have 485 patients hospitalized today, of which 336 are on oxygen therapy while 26 others are in very serious condition.”
Regarding the anti-COVID vaccine, he said that the institutions are working to get it to Kosovo as soon as possible.
“The vaccine comes for Kosovo cetaceans. The Ministry of Health and the National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo (NIPHK) are in constant contact with vaccine manufacturers and we expect the vaccine to arrive in Kosovo as soon as possible. Normally, among the first categories will be health workers and the elderly with chronic diseases “, said Krasniqi/ klankosova
