Since the start of the war in Ukraine over one million citizens have fled their homeland.
Kosovo has lined up alongside other European countries to receive Ukrainian refugees.
With a resolution adopted by the Assembly of Kosovo, the country opens its doors to 5,000 refugees. The Kosovo government says that there is still no set number of time for those expected to come.
According to the response plan for managing the possible influx of migrants, refugees and applicants for international protection, Kosovo has accommodation capacities for 2416 persons in the Centers for Citizenship, Asylum and Migration.
In addition to refugees, Kosovo will host 20 Ukrainian journalists, to whom it will offer all the necessary working conditions. For this, the government of Kosovo has allocated 150 thousand euros.
