The warning about the increase of electricity tariffs has worried the citizens of Kosovo.
They say that even the subsidy from the Government will not help them.
“This is a catastrophe, if the price of energy rises, so must personal income.”
“Incomes are small, families have nowhere to go. It will be a crisis that the people will feel. “
“Any increase of more than 20% I think is very high.”
However, the chief executive is convinced that subsidies are the best solution to overcome the energy crisis.
“We will make available a 75 million euro subsidy so as not to affect at all the increase in energy prices, household consumers who consume up to 600 kWh per month and businesses,” said Kurti.
Despite this, the institutions still do not know exactly how many citizens are expected to be helped by this subsidy and whether this amount will be enough to cover the expenditure by the end of the year.
“From this balance there can be movement and every movement means that there may be a need for additional subsidy,” said Artane Rizvanolli, Minister of Economy.
The opposition has come out against the proposal to increase electricity tariffs and has also announced protests. It is previously intended that on Thursday in the Assembly of Kosovo to vote a resolution banning this action.
